WP3 Environmental survey and sampling in the school study

Participating partners: THL, UU, CREAL

WP 3 includes the exposure assessment for dampness and other indoor air quality factors in 16 school buildings per country in three countries, which will form the first phase of the school field study. Based on the exposure assessment, 4 schools with indoor air problems due to moisture damage and 2 non-problem schools in each country will be selected for the longitudinal field study focusing on health, exposure and mechanistic aspects.
In the second phase, environmental sampling will be performed in the longitudinal field study in 12 moisture damaged and 6 non-moisture damaged schools across Europe. Health surveys that will be conducted in the same schools are introduced in WP4.
Additional goals of WP3 are to study the prevalence of dampness in school buildings in three climatic regions of Europe and to reveal associations between dampness, indoor air quality and pupils’ health across Europe.
