WP 7 Exposure assessment for microbial, allergenic and chemical agents
Participating partners: THL, UU, CREAL
Exposure to microbial agents will be assessed in the population studies (WP 9) and in the field study in the school environment (WP 3) with procedures including sampling of reservoir dust collected in nylon sample socks or by vacuuming from floor and mattress surfaces. Analyses comprise detection of fungal and bacterial compounds by specific enzyme immunoassays.
During the project, improved immunoassays for fungal exposure assessment will be developed and evaluated. Results of immunoassays will be compared with PCR-based analyses of microbial agents in dust.
In addition, indoor exposure for chemical agents: PM2.5, NOx, CO2, and cleaning products will be assessed.
